Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Many of the local schools are encouraging their students to keep up with their reading in the summer. All year, students have worked hard to become proficient in reading and they can lose a lot of their skills if they don't continue reading in the summer. The offers summer reading lists <a href="http://schools.shrewsbury-ma.gov/egov/docs/1251926636456.htm" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">here</a>. The kickoff event for the library's summer reading program is on Thursday, June 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be games, a caricature artist, face painting and even an antiques appraiser for the first 20 adults that come in.
