Key to Awesomeness: Isn't is obvious? The students at the high school were able to coordinate a texting campaign throughout the school to send $10 per text to the people of Japan affected by the recent catastrophic event. While texting and cell phone use is usually banned, Principal Brian Reagan lifted the ban in light of a great cause. During homeroom, students were allowed to text the word RED CROSS to 90999, and all participants will make an automatic $10 donation directly to the Red Cross which will be used to help those in need in Japan. This was voluntary to students and families, but what a great way to use new technology and coordinate a grand effort. Anyone interested can still text RED CROSS to 90999 and $10 will be added to the next cell phone bill. For more information, visit their website.
