Two Arrested for Drug Trafficking

Two men were arrested at the Extra Storage Facility on Clinton Street.

On Saturday night, arrested two men at the Extra Space Storage Facility after a search by the K-9 unit.

On Nov. 4, at 7:31 p.m., Shrewsbury Police Officers Chad Chysna and K-9 Buzzy were performing a check of Extra Space Storage facility located on 53 Clinton St.

Officer Chysna observed two men standing by an open storage unit. The two men saw the officer and one of the men tossed a package aside, according to police. "Officer Chysna observed the package and saw that it was cocaine," said Shrewsbury Police Sgt. Alfred Pratt.

At the time Chysna detained the two men and requested backup. Officer Chysna also discovered both subjects to be in possession of oxycodone. Both men were arrested.

Jose A. Diaz, 34, 31 Forest St., Apt 2, North Brookfield, was arrested and charged with possession Class B substance (cocaine), trafficking a Class B substance (cocaine), possession Class A substance (heroin), possession Class A substance with the intent to distribute (Heroin), possession Class B substance (oxycodone), trafficking a Class B substance (oxycodone) and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.

Luis Navarro, 28, 31 Clement St., Apt. 3, Worcester, was arrested and charged with possession Class B substance (cocaine), trafficking a Class B substance (cocaine), possession Class A substance (heroin), possession Class A substance with the intent to distribute (Heroin), possession Class B substance (oxycodone), trafficking a Class B substance (oxycodone) and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.

Officer Chysna and Detective Michael McGinnis of the Shrewsbury Police Detective Bureau then attained a search warrant for the storage unit. Upon executing the search warrant more narcotics were discovered, according to police. In particular with assistance of K-9 Buzzy, Shrewsbury police found, over 200 grams of pure uncut cocaine, 11 grams of heroin and 46 oxycodone pills. The defendants are being held at the Shrewsbury Police until arraignment at Westborough District Court on Monday.
