VIDEO: Library Rally Draws Opposers to the Project

Though the library has received a grant that would cover $10 million of the proposed project, some residents in town are concerned about the size and scope of the plans.

While the supporters of the expansion project held a rally on Friday, about a half-dozen residents held signs opposing the project saying it's too large and with the down economy, this isn't the time.

The library was recently awarded a grant from the state that would pay for $10 million of the proposed project.

Both sides are urging residents to vote at the Oct. 18 special election on a debt exclusion for the project and to purchase the land adjacent to the library, currently the Shrewsbury Credit Union.
