Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Ah, the annual flushing of the hydrants. Celebrate as you will. On Thursday, April 4, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., <a href="http://www.shrewsbury-ma.gov/egov/docs/1364847128902.htm" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">the Shrewsbury Water Department is flushing the town's hydrants for maintenance purposes. </a> Not only do we share this information so you won't be confused, but to inform residents to refrain from doing water-related activities such as laundry and cooking during that time. As the announcment indicates, "you may experience discolored water in your residence. You may need to run your individual service lines a short period of time to clear out any remaining sediment when we are complete."
