Wines & More Plans to Occupy Borders Location

The selectmen approved a liquor license for Wine & More last night.

The voted to approve the following things at their meeting last night:

  • The selectmen approved an alcoholics and beverages retail package store license for Wines & More from Renaissance Wines & Spirits that closed earlier this year. Wines & More will be renovating the former Borders location on Route 9.
  • The selectmen unanimously approved a junk dealers license for Artin Jewelers on Maple Avenue.
  • The selectmen reappointed Constables James Abdella, Daniel Cormier, Michael D'Errico, Robert Esposito and Brian Gerardi for one year terms until June 30, 2012.
  • The selectmen approved the sale of a parces of land on Route 9 to the Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union.
  • The selectmen postponed voting on the Open Space and Recreation Planning Committee.
  • The selectmen approved a moderate schedule for paying the debt service requirements for the Allen Land purchase, the Sherwood Middle School project and the credit union purchase. In 2012, taxpayers will see an approximate increase of $69.88 to their tax bill.

The next meeting of the Board of Selectmen is Tuesday, July 5 at 7 p.m. at the town hall.
