2 Women Arrested After Allegedly Using Heroin in Starbucks Bathroom

The women were arrested Tuesday, Dec. 2, in Davis Square.

Two women were arrested Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 2, in Davis Square after allegedly using heroin in the Starbucks bathroom.

A Somerville officer conducting narcotics surveillance had been tracking the women and then a Starbucks employee called police because of possible drug activity in the women’s restroom, according to police.

The officer stopped the women after they exited the Starbucks at 260 Elm St. One of the women, Kelly Murray, 34, of 90 Bowdoin St., Malden, handed over a substance believed to be heroin to the officer and admitted to attempting to ingest heroin in the bathroom, police said. The other, Lynn Winn (no address listed), admitted to nasally ingesting heroin in the bathroom, according to police.

More heroin was later found in both women’s bags, police said.

Murray and Winn were arrested at about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday and charged with possession of a Class A drug.
