4-Alarm Somerville Fire Displaces Dozens
The heavy fire started in a car and spread to two buildings overnight.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Seventeen people were displaced by a multi-alarm fire in Somerville overnight. The fire started in a car in the driveway between two homes on Jackson Road and spread to both buildings, according to reports.
The fire reached four alarms just before 4 a.m., the Cambridge Fire Department said. A third home sustained exterior damage.
Fifteen adults and two children were displaced by the blaze. The Red Cross said it is helping more than two dozen people with housing and other needs.
