Abandoned Dog Chained to Pole on Morrison Avenue, Information Sought
Someone chained Carter to a utility pole and left a short note written on a matchbook.

The Somerville Dog Owners Group, SomDog, posted the following message on Facebook Saturday:
Somerville Animal Control is seeking information on this dog. A witness observed someone tie him to a utility pole on Morrison Ave at approximately 9:30am on 6/9/12 with the chain seen in the photos. There was a matchbook with "my name is Carter" written on it attached to the chain. More pictures of the dog are available upon request. Anyone with information on this dog should please call Somerville Animal Control at 617-625-6600 ext 2190.
On SomDog's Facebook page, some people commented about how Carter's owner is unfit to care for the dog. Nonetheless, Somerville Animal Control, it seems, would like to find the dog's owner, and one Somerville resident, responding to the Facebook post, explained why. Michele Biscoe wrote:

More info: He was left in front of 207 Morrison. He was abandoned. The Animal Control Officer, April (who rocks!), hopes to locate the owner. If the owner surrenders him, the ACO can adopt him out faster. (Otherwise, I believe, the law requires the ACO to kennel him for ten days before putting him up for adoption.)
