SOMERVILLE, MA — A driver fled the scene after striking a teenage boy riding a mini bike with his truck, according to a report from 7 News Boston.
Gage Jennngs was on his way home when he was hit by the vehicle as it made a left turn onto Mystic Avenue at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, April 26. Surveillance footage obtained from the nearby El Manantial Latin Market released days later captured the collision, in which Jennings rolled over multiple times before getting up and limping out of the way. Jennings’ friend then moved his bike out of the road as the driver fled the scene.
Jennings’ mother, Jessica Fernandes brought her son to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries to his knee and pelvis. His bike’s handlebars and rear reflector sustained damage from the incident. She expressed her desire to have the driver identified and arrested.
