Somerville Resident Among 7 Arrested In FBI Child Exploitation Sting

SOMERVILLE, MA — A resident was one of seven men arrested during a recent child exploitation and human trafficking operation conducted by the FBI Boston Division and its law enforcement partners, according to federal authorities.

Manjil Bhusal, 21, has been charged with sex for a fee with a child under 18, enticement of a child under 16, and attempted rape of a child. Bhusal was arrested between Friday, June 12, and Tuesday, June 16 as part of an operation carried out by the FBI Boston's Child Exploitation–Human Trafficking Task Force.

According to the FBI, the operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children before, during, and after World Cup matches taking place in the region. Special agents and task force officers worked alongside the Massachusetts State Police during the investigation.

The Child Exploitation–Human Trafficking Task Force is a multi-agency partnership that brings together federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to investigate child exploitation and human trafficking offenses.

All seven suspects were arrested and arraigned in Brockton District Court on the same charges. The FBI noted that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The operation included assistance from the East Bridgewater, New Bedford, Peabody, and Randolph police departments, which are members of the FBI Boston Child Exploitation–Human Trafficking Task Force. The Boston Police Department, Brockton Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and FBI Albany Division also assisted.

In addition to Bhusal, those arrested included Julio Aguilar, 42, of Saugus; Kenneth M. Berry, 45, of Middleboro; Jonathan Matthew William Durocher, 34, of Brockton; Trevon Hubbard, 31, of Middleboro; Krish R. Patel, 26, of Quincy; and Gerald Sabatinelli, 71, of Hyannis.
