Assembly Row Proposes Another Commercial Building - and 489 Parking Spaces

As Assembly Row his phase two, it proposes another building with more than 400 parking spaces.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Assembly Row, the new Somerville neighborhood, is now in Phase 2 of its expansion. That means Mikes Pastry - the Iconic North End Bakery has opened its 3rd location. It also means another building proposal is on the table.

According to Build Up, there's a 267,387 square feet of new commercial space proposed at Assembly Row on Foley Street. The commercial building will feature mostly office space above approximately 29,700 square feet of retail and restaurant space. Also proposed? Communal roof terraces on the 6th and 12th floors.

The proposal plans for an extra 489 structured parking spaces, and the entire building would be situated at the Row’s Block 5B, located next to the Alloy condominium and retail development steps to the MBTA Orange Line.

Assembly Row opened in 2014. Over the next few years, Assembly Row is slated to continue to grow, according to its website. When complete, the Assembly Row neighborhood will include:

  • A six-acre riverfront park
  • Almost 10 football fields of shopping
  • Up to 2,100 residential units
  • The first T station added to the MBTA system in over 20 years, Assembly Station on the orange line
  • A hotel
  • Nearly 2 million square feet of office space
