About the Book
In Sink Or Burn, the year is 2121, and fascism has overthrown a once-thriving utopia. Amid the ashes of a fallen nation, Cheap Glitter—a queer, punk rock band—becomes the voice of resistance. As they tour across a fractured America, raising funds for the fight against a brutal regime, they navigate wildfires, sunken landscapes, and the terrifying laws of a collapsing society.

At the heart of their journey is CT, a lovelorn survivor whose romantic entanglement with a fellow bandmate—a survivor of a different war—complicates their quest for both personal healing and social revolution. As the band balances the weight of trauma with the urgency of their fight, they discover that love, however chaotic, may be their greatest weapon.

About the Authors
Eternal rabble rouser Cristy Road Carrera is a first generation Cuban-American artist, writer and musician. Blending anti-fascist principles with survival love stories—Road has spent over twenty-five years testifying to the beauty of the imperfect.

Her career began in 1996 with a self-published punk rock fanzine, sparking decades of illustrations for music, literature and social movements.

Forging an imprint in queer, feminist counter cultures with graphic memoirs, illustrated novels, and punk rock records; Carrera redefined her career in 2019 with the release of the Next World Tarot, a tarot card deck that envisions a world based on radical re-definitions of self-love and social justice.

Carrera has been fronting punk rock bands since her days of self-publishing fanzines. She currently performs her songs as Choked Up, making records and playing shows with the ancient punk rock ethos of passion before profit. Engaging with her world anywhere from Yale University to Bluestockings Bookstore, Carrera continues to thrive on the fringe of the mainstream, and the epicenter of revolution.

She is a Gemini and works and lives in NYC and Miami.

Nathan Tavares is a novelist and journalist based in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in the Portuguese-American community of southeastern Massachusetts and developed a love for fantastical stories at an early age. He is the author of three queer science fiction novels from Titan Books, including A Fractured Infinity—which the New York Times called "a very beautiful, tender portrait of a romance"—and The Disco at the End of the World (June 2026).

Join New Normal Comedy and All She Wrote Books for a night of smut and standup comedy! A lineup of Boston’s best and nerdiest comics who definitely think the book is better than the movie will be riffing about all things, smut, romance, and fan fic.

The night will begin with an hour of private shopping for ticket holders and conclude with a 90-minute standup comedy show packed with romance hot takes and Heated Rivalry references. Content will be adult-themed and discretion is advised.

A portion of ticket sales will be donated to LUCE to help keep our immigrant neighbors safe.&nbsp;

The Improbable Beasts bass clarinet ensemble, with special guests Meryl Summers(bassoon) and Solon Gordon (piano) present “We Rise,” a program of music about coming together in the midst of adversity, and rising up in community.
Beasts director Jonathan Russell will be joined by pianist Solon Gordon and bassoonist Meryl Summers in his compositional response to the dislocations and disruptions of our current moment called “We Reflect, We Grieve, We Rise.” 
After this, the Beasts present two more of Russell’s original compositions and close with a rousing rendition of the African American Spiritual and protest song “Down by the Riverside.”

Skill Development: Ball control, possession, finishing, team tactical training, and multi-themed camps. Campers receive evaluations weekly, and parents receive daily photos and updates of training. Home Grown: We are run by established, credentialed local teachers and coaches. Many CSS campers are accepted into our CIT program and become coaches. Affordable: $315 per week (Elite Camp $350); 3-week player development pass: $270/week 5- to 8-week player development pass ~$200 per week, Multi-Sport camp: $285/week; $2,000 for 10-week summer pass CSS Camper Gear: All campers receive a custom-designed ball and a dri-fit shirt.
