Car Break-In Suspect Faces Gun Charges: Somerville Police Logs

Tuesday, Dec. 19

• Antonio Filho, 32, of Somerville, was arrested at 6:46 p.m. and charged with larceny over $250 and removal of theft detection device for allegedly attempting to steal five pairs of sunglasses totaling $650 from Saks at Assembly Row. He also faces Sudbury warrant charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle/trailer and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Wednesday, Dec. 20

• Richard Barbosa, 25, was arrested at 3:46 a.m. and charged with breaking and entering of a vehicle or boat nighttime for a felony, carrying a firearm with ammunition, possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, receiving stolen property over $250 and furnishing a false name or social security number. Barbosa was allegedly in possession of items from a car that had been broken into on Gilman Street. Police also searched him and allegedly found a black 9-millimeter Taurus gun with an extended magazine loaded with five rounds in his jacket. Barbosa also faces forged check charges out of Clinton and Southborough and Cambridge warrant charges of marked lanes violation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of personal injury, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.

Thursday, Dec. 21

• Damon Felix-Elie, 22, of Somerville, was arrested at 5:13 p.m. for a Somerville warrant charge of threatening to commit a crime.

• Quentrie Familia, 34, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250, resisting arrest and furnishing a false name or social security number. Familia was allegedly caught by store security stealing $415 in items from Stop and Shop on McGrath Highway and attempted to walk away while being placed under arrest. He also faces Brookline warrant charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise and furnishing a false name or social security number.

Friday, Dec. 22

• Anthony Celata, 28, of Medford, was arrested at 1:25 a.m. for state police warrant charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and failure to stop or yield.

Saturday, Dec. 23

• A Cambridge man was arrested at 7 p.m. and charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise. He was allegedly caught by store security stealing $208 in items from Market Basket on Somerville Avenue. (Ed. Note: This individual's name was removed because he presented paperwork showing his case was dismissed.)

Sunday, Dec. 24

• Peter Piantedosi, 42, of Andover, was arrested at 1:12 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Piantedosi allegedly got into an altercation with an MBTA bus driver over a parking spot and failed to cooperate with police when questioned, squaring off his body with officers and raising his voice.

Monday, Dec. 26

• Michael Baptista, 27, of Somerville, was arrested at 10:58 a.m. for Somerville warrant charges of distribution of a Class A drug, possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug law, drug violation near school, breaking and entering nighttime for a felony, conspiracy and larceny from a building. He also faces Roxbury warrant charges of a lights violation on a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
