Deep Cuts Deli & Brewery is Taking Community Investment
New Somerville-based Deli and Brewery hybrid is providing locals the opportunity to aid in their growth and share in their success.

MainVest, the social investment platform, announced today a partnership with Deep Cuts Deli and Brewery, a Somerville-based deli/brewery hybrid specializing in unique takes on classic sandwiches with high-quality brews to pair. You might be familiar with Deep Cuts from their pop-ups around town serving delicious and fresh sandwiches. In addition to great food and beer, Deep Cuts has a deep commitment to local art, planning to host small live performances, art shows, craft markets, and more. They want to be a place for people to interact with local artists and craftspeople in a safe and fun environment. With such a strong focus on community, founders Ian McGregor, Jeff Wetzel, and Daniel Hastings feel confident that social investment perfectly aligns with their business model. Through MainVest, everyday people- including sandwich lovers, beer enthusiasts, and local art fans- will be able to invest as little as $100 and see the potential for returns.
All three Deep Cuts founders have backgrounds in Boston music, food, and beer, creating an ideal team for this venture and fundraising campaign. Ian McGregor is currently the creative talent behind Eye Design, a promotional company booking local bands at premiere venues in the area. Jeff Wetzel is a founder of BearMoose Brewing Company in Everett, has practiced as an Architectural Designer since 2008, and was playing actively in the Boston Music scene from 2010-2015. Daniel Hastings is a bartender at State Park, helped Dave's Fresh Pasta open their deli and grocery side when they first expanded, and will oversee front of house and bar management. Madison Cannon will assist with baking, serving, and management as well. With the combined experience of the founders, Deep Cuts is set up for success across food, beverage, and entertainment. Deep Cuts has established a large fan base through pop-ups with local breweries, so the move into a permanent location has seen strong community support and excitement.
Nick Mathews, MainVest CEO, stated “Deep Cuts already has a strong fan base, so we’re excited to give their community the opportunity to play a more active role in the growth of this local business. We imagine that Deep Cuts is the type of place that will produce many regulars, so it’ll be great for investors to essentially earn back a percentage of each sandwich and beer they buy.” Somerville is a vibrant and active community, and MainVest is confident that new investors will be excited about this concept.
