BRIGHT MOMENTS  is a sextet playing the music of Charles Mingus and Rahsaan Roland Kirk. These two musicians, whose music is infused with gospel and blues, were forces in the 50's and 60's, while adding a modern flavor. Both artists led the direction of contemporary jazz music. The band tries to capture the experience of their powerful live performances. They have performed in jazz clubs, art galleries, and outdoor festivals, often augmenting their music with poetry and social-historic  presentations.  The group members are:   Bob Drinkwater - soprano & tenor saxes, clarinet and flute  ~  John Licata - trombone  ~  Bob McCloskey - tenor & alto saxes  ~  Dave Gold - bass  ~  Rick Lynch - piano  ~  Bob Christman - drums

.SQ  (an abbreviation of Dorchester Sax Quartet)  plays a mix of music from all eras - from Bach to Bebop to Beatles - with an emphasis on early jazz. The group consists entirely of saxophones - no percussion, no guitars (think string quartet, but more fun). The group consists of: Howard Rivenson - soprano and alto saxes; Dick Rosenberg - alto sax; Tim Olevsky - tenor sax; and Mae Deluca - baritone sax.

RON BENHAM  is a poet, writer, sports fan & family man, and a true aficionado imbued with the spirit of The Beat Generation. In his work and his readings, he draws a direct connection  to the jazz breath lines of Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, and Kenneth Rexroth, made famous in the 50s & 60s. He has often performed with Bright Moments.
