From the Center for Arts at the Armory:
Carey Murdock, a traveling songwriter from North Augusta, SC, relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in August 2011 after years of touring based out of North Augusta. Sharon Jones, the famed soul singer, called and left him a voicemail to wish him luck on his move to Music City.
So far, he has shared the stage with the likes of Mountain Heart, Yarn, Josh Hisle, and Jessica Lea Mayfield to famed songwriters such as Tony Arata ("The Dance" for Garth Brooks) and Benita Hill (backup vocals for the Allman Brothers and writer of "Two Pina Coladas" for Garth Brooks").
Carey Murdock is currently touring in support of his latest album "Baby Don't Look Down" which was produced by Patrick Blanchard/Shawn Mullins and features Cary Ann Hearst of Shovels & Rope on vocals.
