"Meet, Mingle, Read" Series at the Central Library

The first talk will feature the author of “Classic Diners of Massachusetts” and includes diner food and a Q&A with Larry Cultrera. 

The following is a press release from Jackie Rossetti, the deputy director of communications for the city: 

SOMERVILLE – Somerville Public Library Director, Maria Carpenter, announced that the Library will begin a new “Meet, Mingle, Read” series this month, with the inaugural talk given by author Larry Cultrera on Saturday, November 19th from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at the Central Library on Highland Ave.  Cultrera authored the book “Classic Diners of Massachusetts,” which also features Somerville historic hot spots, Buddy’s Truck Stop, Kelly’s Diner, and Rosebud Diner.  Diner-food-like refreshments will be served, books will be for sale at the event, and all residents are welcome to attend.  This talk is co-sponsored by Harvard Coop Bookstore.

How To Get Published, a workshop sponsored by the Library, Somerville Arts Council and Massachusetts Cultural Council, will feature Becky Tuch, founding Editor of The Review Review.  It will be held on November 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Library.

Dancing to Mozart's Requiem, Choreographer Nicole Pierce will discuss the process of choreography, listening to recordings of Mozart and viewing video excerpts of performance.  The workshop will be held on November 15th at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Library. It is sponsored by the Library, Somerville Arts Council and Massachusetts Cultural Council.
