Katie Visco, from Glen Ellyn, IL, is the founder of "Pave Your Lane," a campaign designed to empower people to find their passion, create a plan to embrace it and "run" towards it fully. Promoting this message, in 2009, Katie ran solo across America, and became the second youngest and 13th woman overall to run coast to coast. During her run, Katie also worked to raise awareness and funds for Girls on the Run, a national charity focused on helping young women gain self-esteem and confidence through after-school running programs. Katie departed from Boston on March 29, making history at the time as the youngest female ever to start a solo run across America. From Boston, she then continued West, running about 100 miles per week, through major cities including New Haven, New York City, Cleveland, Chicago, Iowa City, Kansas City, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and ended in San Diego on December 29, 2009. While running through each city, Katie visited more than 85 local schools, teams, and other groups to speak on the importance of living a bold and passion-driven life. She is currently on a national speaking tour, stopping to speak at schools and to other groups! Her message is all about finding and following your passions, taking a first step, pushing through the walls, asking for help, and creating expectations for yourself, just to name a few topics. Mike Cohen, is a big fan of unsupported bike touring. He's done solo tours in England, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, and France; and with a friend, ridden around the South Island of New Zealand. In addition, Mike has ridden solo from Seattle to Boston three times, camping the whole way. Mike’s first tour was after recovering from Cancer in 1992, the next two were inspired by his nostalgia for the wide-open spaces out West. On his travels, Mike has traversed (i.e., completely crossed from one side to the other) by bicycle a number of large cities, including Albany, Amsterdam, Boston, Christchurch, London, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Spokane, and Worcester. Mike has been member of Hostelling International, the Charles River Wheelmen, and the MassBike Coalition.
