Specified Building Products Corporation is holding a seminar on fire, smoke and egress codes for architectural professionals, decision-makers, construction specifiers, and regulatory officials at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel located at 400 Soldiers Field Road in Boston. The seminar, entitled “Understanding the International Building Codes,” will be presented by David Dodge, CDT of McKeon Door Company from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Eligible event attendees qualify for five AIA Continuing Education System learning units for Health, Safety and Welfare-related training (CESLU-HSW). The seminar will cover understanding Chapter 7 (Fire & Smoke Protection Features) and applying Chapter 10 (Means of Egress) of the International Building Code (IBC). Mr. Dodge will explain and define the “five walls,” review the rules for opening protectives, discuss working with the three-part means of egress system and other various topics. Seating is limited and is geared towards decision makers and principals representing commercial architectural firms.
