The region of Beaujolais, in southeastern France is home to the star red grape, Gamay. Just south of Burgundy, a lesser amount of Chardonnay is also produced here. Ten villages, known as crus, make the world's finest examples of Gamay wines. Try a Morgon, compare it to a Brouilly or Regnie. Delicate, fruity and nuanced, the cru Beaujolais wines can be among the most versatile of food wines.
