Somerville Public School students and alumni will perform at the Somerville Theatre to support the music programs in the district.

From Alan Ball, a writer in Somerville who teaches creative writing and helps run a student newspaper at the Healy School:
The students and alumni of the Somerville Public Schools' music department will pay back the community for its support of their education on Saturday, Nov. 26, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Somerville Theatre, in Davis Square.
'Holiday in the Ville,' a Tom Taylor production, is their fundraiser in support of ongoing expansion of the music program that has benefited them as musicians, and seeing to it that the practice can continue of providing music lessons to all interested students whether or not they can pay for an instrument rental.

Among the contributing entertainers are the alternative rock band go-flo casuals, Grooversity, the Somerville Second Line Social Aid Pleasure Society Brass Band, and a variety of solo and group acts representing the broad range of talents of alumni as well as present students. There are sure to be wonderful surprises. Performances by The Somerville High School Band, SHS Orchestra and SHS Chorus, all with alumni guests, will round out the program. Somerville’s own Jimmy Del Ponte will be master of ceremonies.
