How to Volunteer With Somerville Public Schools

In 2016, volunteers contributed more than 7,000 hours. Learn how you can pitch in this year at an orientation Thursday.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville Public Schools' volunteers are some of the more vigorous in the volunteer game.

Last year, they contributed more than 7,000 hours of service, which SPS hopes to top this year. If you are interested in joining the effort to support students in becoming "confident, enthusiastic learners," stop by the Volunteer Orientation this Thursday, Jan. 5.

Volunteers are needed in the fields of language arts, English language learning, mathematics, sciences, music arts, after school enrichment and service projects.

The Volunteer Orientation will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 at East Somerville Community School, 50 Cross St.
