As of Monday, March 30, two decades will have gone by since the strangled body of 17-year-old Deanna J. Cremin was discovered on Jaques Street. Despite all the time that has passed, police have yet to find her killer.

In a recent interview with the Boston Globe, mother Katherine Cremin expressed ample frustration with the lack of closure. However, she also emphasized that the prayer service at 7 p.m. at St. Ann Parish on Monday is intended to celebrate Deanna’s life, not dwell upon her death.

“She was just a good person and would have become a better person,” Cremin told the Globe. “Because of the person Deanna was, no one’s going to give up on getting justice for her.”

District Attorney Marian Ryan told the Boston Herald that there have been “some advances in the case” within the last six months, though she declined to give any specific details. Ryan encourages anyone with any information whatsoever that might help solve the case to contact her office. Likewise, the Friends of Deanna Cremin organization has offered $70,000 for any new information that brings about the arrest of Cremin’s killer.
