New Openings At Assembly Row, More To Come
Six retailers have opened so far as part of Assembly's second phase of expansion, and a total of 20 are expected to open this year.

SOMERVILLE, MA β Yankee Candle opened at Assembly Row on Friday, becoming the sixth merchant to do so as part of the development's second phase of expansion. A total of 20 stores are expected to open this year, as well as two new apartment complexes, offices and open space.
So far, Mike's Pastry, Ann Taylor, Columbia, The Fragrance Outlet and Club Pilates have opened at Assembly this year.
American Fresh Brewhouse will expand from its current beer garden into an indoor restaurant and brew pub, and FitRow, Assembly's collection of five boutique fitness studios, kicked off this spring with the opening of Club Pilates. Boston-based Squeeze Juice Co. will set up shop next to FitRow, using ingredients from a garden operated by Somerville's Green City Growers.

Not to be outdone, several restaurant and entertainment options will open this fall, including Lucky Strike Social, Caffe Nero, Zo Greek, Sabroso Taqueria and Waxyβs Modern Irish Bar + Kitchen.
"With a sophisticated backdrop to unfettered fun, Lucky Strike Social is a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience and a new destination for Somerville residents," Steven Foster, Owner & CEO of Lucky Strike Entertainment, said in a statement earlier this year. The Lucky Strike complex will offer bowling, ping pong, pool, shuffleboard and electronic gaming combined with gastropub cuisine, live music and a drink lineup of craft beer and Victorian-inspired cocktails.

Waxy's Assembly Row location will be the chain's fifth in Massachusetts. The company also has pubs in Florida, Texas, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
"We are excited to be a part of the neighborhoodβs tremendous growth," Paul McKenna, principal of Waxyβs Restaurant Group, said in a statement. "Waxyβs Modern Irish Bar + Kitchen prides itself on providing excellent service and great food. With a variety of menu items and an expansive selection of 100 draught beers, Waxy's will be lively and festive anytime of the day and is the perfect place to gather with friends and family."
Two new residential complexes β Montaje, a 20-story, 447-unit apartment community β and Alloy β a 13-story, 122-unit collection of condos β will open their doors in 2017.
Montaje offers residents the choice between modern or classic unit finishes and features an amenity package with a maker space, a 14,000-square-foot roof terrace with a pool and bocce court and an indoor-outdoor sky lounge on the 20th floor that overlooks the Boston skyline. Leasing for Montaje begins in the spring.
Alloy will sit atop an upcoming Autograph Collection by Marriott hotel and provide residents with access to hotel services like the fitness center, pool, lounge and rooftop terrace.
A new grocery store and open space at Assembly Line Park are planned, as well.

"Whether people are coming here to shop, eat or be entertained, whether to live or to work, they tell us how they discover something new each time they visit. Weβre excited to begin unveiling the second phase, which will provide even more options for our residents, office employees and visitors."
