Council Calls for Infrastructure Solutions to Protect Local Waterways (einpresswire.com) — Boston's council just passed a resolution pushing the MWRA, Cambridge, and Somerville to toughen their long-term plan for combined sewer overflows that pollute the Charles and Mystic Rivers. The measure urges modern infrastructure like storage tunnels or sewer separation so untreated wastewater would almost never reach local waterways, and calls for tighter regional coordination to protect the broader Boston Harbor watershed.
