PHOTOS: Flooding on Community Path
Photos sent by a reader depict flooding on the Community Path between Davis Square and Cameron Avenue.
A Patch reader sent these photos depicting the between Davis Square and Cameron Avenue, a part of the path known as Linear Park, that joins Somerville and Cambridge.
According to the reader, the area of the path behind Davis Square Lofts has, for years, been prone to flooding. Sometimes the water gets to be 6 to 12 inches deep, making the path impassable, and during the winter, when the water freezes, people have taken awful falls, the reader said.

According to the website, the path is owned by the MBTA and maintained by the cities of Somerville and Cambridge. On occasion, the reader has seen Somerville Department of Public Works crews try to suck up the water with a special truck or attempt to unclog the drain. The problem, the reader said, hasn't gone away.
