Popular Davis Square Wine Bar Reopens

Months after closing amid owner Flea Foster's health issues, Spoke Wine Bar is now open under new management.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Davis Square hotspot and industry darling is back under new management, according to Eater Boston. Spoke Wine Bar reopened Wednesday with former bartender Mary Kurth at the helm, months after closing amid owner Flea Foster's fight against ALS.

Buzz began to swirl around the restaurant's second coming earlier this year after a job posting was found on BostonChefs.com seeking full- and part-time servers and bartenders. Spoke co-owner Dave Jick confirmed the reopening with Boston Magazine and said Kurth would take a leadership role.

Jick, who notified the licensing commission last November of his intent to temporarily close the restaurant and reopen it with a new concept early this year, will be a partner, according to Eater.
