Reincarnated Davis Square Restaurant on 'Chronicle'

After 50 years as a diner, Rosebud has been reborn.

“Chronicle,” the WCVB news magazine TV show, recently visited the new Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar in Somerville’s Davis Square.

After over 50 years as a diner, Rosebud closed in 2013 and then was bought and revamped by the team behind Posto and The Painted Burro, two nearby restaurants.

“Chronicle” highlights a handful of items on Rosebud’s “elevated comfort food” menu, including the “Texas Rachel in a Skirt” (pictured above), a sandwich with smoked brisket, BBQ onions, horseradish wonder sauce and creamy slaw on rye.
