Saturday: Union Square Farmers Market

The opens for the season Saturday.

The market, in Union Square's plaza, near the building, features local vegetable and fruit vendors. Often, you can also buy fresh fish, breads and other goods.

The market is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This year, Union Square will also be home to a Thursday-night market called , which will sell local wine, cheese, bread and specialty gourmet foods. It begins June 14.

The runs on Wednesdays, and the Mystic Avenue farmers market begins June 21.
