Somerville 2019 Preliminary Election Results

Voters were asked to thin the field of two races Tuesday.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Somerville voters headed to the polls a bit early this year to narrow down two races to two candidates. The city's preliminary election for mayor and Ward 3 School Committee took place Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Voters had to thin the field of candidates to two apiece. The preliminary was nonpartisan and all voters were allowed to vote for any candidate running for either office. The general election will be Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Joseph Curtatone – 57.49%

Marianne Walles – 37.12%

Write-in — 0.65%

Ward 3 School Committee

Sarah Phillips — 44.79%

Mary Marshall — 29.69%

Michele Lippens — 25.23%

Write-in — 0.29%
