SOMERVILLE, MA – State senator Pat Jehlen, a Democrat from Somerville, was appointed to Senate Assistant Majority Leader Wednesday by Massachusetts Senate President Stan Rosenberg. Jehlen has served as a Massachusetts state senator since 2005.
Jehlen is one of three assistant majority leaders, joining Cynthia Creem, a Democrat from Newton, and New Bedford Democrat Mark Montigny.
"I’m grateful for this opportunity to work with Senate President Rosenberg and his leadership team to further the Senate’s goals," Jehlen said in a press release. "In accepting this position, I am inspired by my predecessor, Senator Ken Donnelly, and will attempt to emulate his progressive leadership."
