Curtatone Re-Elected, Newcomers Fall Short In Somerville
Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone received nearly 60 percent of the vote in an election that saw many familiar faces sent back to office.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Joseph Curtatone was elected to his ninth term as mayor of Somerville Tuesday. Curtatone received nearly 60 percent of the vote while his challenger, Marianne Walles, received close to 40 percent.
All four at-large City Councilors — Mary Jo Rossetti, Bill White Jr., Stephanie Hirsch and Will Mbah — were re-elected. Eight candidates were running for at-large seats.
Sarah Phillips was elected to the School Committee in Ward 3 and Carrie Normand was re-elected to the School Committee in Ward 7.
