Somerville High Principal Selected as Malden Superintendent

SOMERVILLE, MA – Two Massachusetts school districts want Somerville High School Principal John Oteri at the head of the table. The Malden School Committee Monday night selected Oteri as the next Malden Public Schools Superintendent, but the official move is still pending a contract agreement.

Oteri is also a finalist for the superintendent role in Peabody, alongside Lynn elementary school principal Debra Ruggiero.

The Malden School Committee voted 6-3 in favor of Oteri over four other finalists.

Former Malden High Principal Dana Brown and Interim Superintendent Charles Grandson were two of the five candidates.
