Somerville High School Building Project Has Begun

The first phase of new building construction is set to take place in June.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The Somerville High School Building Project has begun, and major work is set to take place in June. According to the project website, the East 1929 classroom wing was vacated in April, and students were moved to modular classrooms.

The schedule for June calls for the demolition and abatement of the East 1929 wing and the first phase of construction of a new building.

The city will hold a public meeting Thursday, May 31 at 6 p.m. in the Somerville High School cafeteria to discuss changes to the Central Hill Campus, which houses City Hall, the high school and the main library.
