Somerville HS 2018 Renovations Will Alter Central Hill Parking

The Central Hill campus includes City Hall, Somerville High School and the Somerville Public Library.

SOMERVILLE, MA – As construction on the Somerville High School building project begins in January, gradual parking changes will be implemented at the Central Hill campus. The area includes City Hall, Somerville High School and the Somerville Public Library, as well as the surrounding public streets.

Employee parking will shift from designated lots to nearby streets, which will disrupt the regular schedule of both employees and residents. A study conducted by an outside consulting firm in the spring examined high-volume parking times throughout the day on the Central Hill campus and streets within a reasonable walking distance.

Some parking changes will begin in late December, according to a city press release. Parking will be eliminated in phases.
