Somerville Officials Seek To Establish Parking Permit Regulations

The Board of Aldermen put forward an order asking why parking permits do not have an automatic renewal date of one year.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The Somerville Board of Aldermen is asking city traffic officials to clarify parking permit regulations, the Somerville Times reported. At its last meeting, the board put forward an order asking the director of Traffic and Parking to explain why permits do not have a blanket renewal date of one year from the last day of the month they were originally purchased.

The board asked for a written report from Traffic and Parking, due Tuesday, Sept. 26, and requested that the director appear at its next meeting on Thursday, Sept. 28.

According to the Times, members of the board are keen to establish parking permit regulations in the city. The order was passed unanimously by the Board of Aldermen.
