Who will be in the race for mayor and school committee for Ward 1 this November?

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville held its preliminary election Tuesday, giving residents the opportunity to decide who made it to November's general election. The top two candidates for mayor and school committee in Ward 1 will move on to the general.

Residents who do not live in Ward 1 did not vote for school committee in this election.

Below are the unofficial election results of Tuesday's election, via the City of Somerville:

Mayor

Joseph Curtatone (incumbent): 58.16 percent

Kenneth Van Buskirk III: 6.78 percent

Payton Corbett: 35.06 percent

School Committee - Ward 1

Emily Ackman: 45.14 percent

Kenneth M. Salvato: 33.07 percent

Guillermo Samuel Hamlin: 21.78 percent


Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Polling locations are below.

  • Precinct 1. A room in the Capuano School, 150 Glen Street.
  • Precinct 2. The East Somerville Community School, 50 Cross Street - Glen Street Entrance.
  • Precinct 3. The East Somerville Community School, 50 Cross Street - Glen Street Entrance.

Ward Two

  • Precinct 1. A room in the Police Department, 220 Washington Street.
  • Precinct 2. A room in the Albert F Argenziano School at Lincoln Park, 290 Washington Street.
  • Precinct 3. A room in the Lowell Street Fire Station, 651 Somerville Avenue.

Ward Three

  • Precinct 1. The Atrium, Somerville High School, 81 Highland Avenue.
  • Precinct 2. The Atrium, Somerville High School, 81 Highland Avenue.
  • Precinct 3. A room in The Dante Club, 5 Dante Terrace.

Ward Four

  • Precinct 1. A room in the Mystic Activity Center, 530 Mystic Avenue.
  • Precinct 2. A room in the Winter Hill Community School, 115 Sycamore Street.

  • Precinct 2. A room in the Somerville Community Baptist Church, 31 College Avenue.
  • Precinct 3. A room in the Holy Bible Baptist Church, 14 Chapel Street.

  • Precinct 1. A room in the senior center, 167 Holland Street.
  • Precinct 2. A room in the West Somerville Neighborhood School, 177 Powder House Boulevard - Raymond Avenue Entrance.
  • Precinct 3. The VNA Assisted Living Facility, 405 Alewife Brook Parkway.
