Somerville Public Schools Closed Thursday, March 8

They're not taking any chances.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Somerville Public Schools are closed Thursday as the second nor'easter in a week bears down on the region. They join Boston and a growing list of other schools in the area who are calling it ahead of what the National Weather Service estimates will be nearly a foot of snow overnight.

Tonight the weather service estimates that snow fall may be heavy at times this evening - when it comes - and till add up to between 6 to 10 inches. Watch for wind gusts up to 45 MPH, too. And those types of gusts could mean power outages, too.

On Thursday the forecasters are predicting more snow which could push the total snow accumulation up to 8 to 12 inches. Thursday watch for highs in the upper 30s.
