"We lost someone special when we lost Deanna Cremin," Mayor Joseph Curtatone said in a statement. "This park will honor her caring, fun-loving spirit, and with the renovation of the playground, our children and families will be now able to enjoy a space dedicated to Deanna’s memory and legacy."
The city will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday at 10:30 a.m. to mark the occasion. It has completely overhauled the playground to include new play structures, musical instruments, community murals, a water spray area, a large dish swing and café.

In addition, the city expanded green spaces, added new sidewalks and street trees and permeated the surfacing to help remediate stormwater runoff; new safety features such as improved lighting, security cameras and gates were installed, as well.
Residents are invited to join their neighbors and Cremin's family and friends for the ceremony at the corner of Otis and Dane Streets on Saturday.
