Somerville Rep. Denise Provost Will Not Seek Re-Election
Provost, a Democrat from Somerville, has served in the House since 2006.

SOMERVILLE, MA — State Rep. Denise Provost will not seek re-election this year, the Somerville Democrat announced Sunday. Provost has served in the House since 2006.
In an email newsletter, Provost thanked her supporters in the 27th Middlesex District and said it has been an "honor" to represent the people of Somerville, according to the State House News Service.
Provost has been a proponent of environmental protection policies and highlighted her work to stop a proposal to transport ethanol on two of the Commuter Rail lines that pass through Somerville.

Two other state legislators, Randy Hunt and Lou Kafka, have also said they will not run for re-election this year, the State House News Service reported.
