Somerville Residents Granted Extra Time to Clear Sidewalks
For residential properties, the deadline for adhering to the city shoveling ordinance has been pushed back a day.

This afternoon, officials announced that Somerville residents striving to meet the city’s snow shoveling ordinance have until noon on Friday, Jan. 30, to remove the snow from their sidewalks. The original deadline of noon today still applies to commercial properties.
It should also be noted that if Friday’s anticipated snow begins before noon, the ordinance cutoff time will be 10 p.m. on Saturday if the snow ceases during the day, and 10 a.m. if it’s over before Saturday’s dawn.
