Somerville Unemployment Dropped to Below 4 Percent in March
Somerville has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Greater Boston.

The unemployment rate in Somerville dropped to 3.9 percent in March, down from 4.8 percent in February.
Of the communities we looked at in the northern part of Greater Boston, only Cambridge, Arlington and Winchester had lower unemployment rates.
The drop in unemployment was seen in communities around the region.

The state's unemployment rate dropped to 6.4 percent in March, down significantly from the 7.5 percent mark posted in February, according to numbers released by the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
Despite the overall drop in unemployment and the low unemployment numbers seen in places like Somerville, Cambridge and Arlington, some neighboring communities are still grappling with above average unemployment. For instance, Revere had an unemployment rate of 7.5 percent in March, and in Chelsea the rate was 8.7 percent.
