Somerville's Assembly Square Targeted for New 9-Acre Development
The new project would bring 1 million square feet of office space to the area.

Somerville Office Associates, a company which has owned land in the area since 1970, is looking to redevelop 9 acres worth of land in Assembly Square to build new housing, hotel and office space.
The proposed development would be built in front of the new Assembly Row complex where the old Assembly Square Cinemas used to be located.
The group pushing to land the development is trying to use the success of the neighboring development as an asset to gain from moving forward, according to The Boston Globe.
