Somerville's DeSimone Tapped as Nashoba Tech Superintendent
Pending contract negotiations, a Somerville educator will take over as the Nashoba Technical High School District Superintendent.

SOMERVILLE, MA—One of Somerville’s leaders in technical education will take the lead as the Superintendent for the Nashoba Valley Technical High School District.
Leo DeSimone, currently the director of the Comprehensive, Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department at Somerville High School, has been tapped as the district’s new superintendent, pending contract negotiations.
DeSimone will take the reins from Judith Klimkiewicz, who has been in the position for the past 19 years. She announced her retirement last November.

Klimkiewicz will stay on until the new superintendent is in place. DeSimone’s start date remains uncertain as contract negotiations are ongoing.
The Nashoba Valley Technical High School District School Committee selected DeSimone from a pool of three finalists. The other finalists included Denise Pigeon, principal at Nashoba Tech, and Carissa Karakaedos, an assistant principal at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in Billerica.
