Sunday Street Festival on Highland Avenue!

Temperatures were expected to be cooler, relatively speaking, Sunday, making it the perfect day a mid-summer street festival.

The "" event, today from noon until 4 p.m. along Highland Avenue, from near city hall down to Cedar Street, will feature a farmers market, outdoor yoga, live music, sand castle building, face painting, dance demonstrations, bike decorating, bike rides, a family swim at the YMCA and a health fair.

After the festival, there will be a family friendly concert at the , on Vinal Avenue.

Seize the Summer is one of five street festivals organized by SomerStreets.

In June, East Somerville hosted "Carnaval." On Aug. 21 there will be a "Going Green" festival along Alewife Brook Parkway. On Sept. 10, Shore Drive will host "Rolling on the Mystic."

And on Oct. 23 there will be a fall festival along Somerville Avenue.
