Suspected Heroin Trafficker Arrested In Somerville: PD

Investigators searched 30-year-old Johnny McCloskey's apartment and found 36 grams of suspected heroin.

SOMERVILLE, MA — A suspected drug trafficker was arrested Friday in Somerville, police said. Investigators believed 30-year-old Johnny McCloskey was dealing heroin out of his Heath Street apartment, and placed him into custody outside his home on two warrants for his arrest, according to police records.

Police searched McCloskey's apartment and found an orange pill bottle containing a "large amount" of Gabapentin pills, amounts of Klonopin and Xanax "consistent with someone who will possess with the intent to distribute" and 36 grams of a brown rocky substance believed to be heroin, police said.

McCloskey was charged with trafficking a Class A drug, possession to distribute a Class E drug (two counts) and possession to distribute a Class C drug.

He also faces warrant charges of distributing a Class B drug (subsequent offense), possession of a Class C drug (subsequent offense) and possession of a Class E drug in Middlesex Superior Court, as well as warrant charges of possession to distribute a Class C drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, drug violation near a school/park and distribution of a Class A drug in Cambridge District Court.
