Waxy's Irish Pub Coming to Somerville
The chain of pubs has locations in Brookline, Foxboro, Kingston, Lexington and Woburn, and it looks like Somerville is next.
SOMERVILLE, MA – A chain of Irish pubs with five Massachusetts locations is poised to open a sixth in Somerville. The city appeared under the "Locations" tab on Waxy O'Connor's website, with the ambiguous descriptor "Coming 2017."
When and where exactly it will open remains a mystery, though a tipster told Boston Restaurant Talk the pub will be located at the Partners HealthCare building at Assembly Row. The burgeoning development will also house Mike's Pastry Shop and a possible Lucky Strike location, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
Waxy's has pubs in Brookline, Foxboro, Kingston, Lexington and Woburn, as well as Texas, Florida, Connecticut and New Hampshire.

The chain serves standard Irish pub fare, including bangers and mash and baked scrod, as well as burgers and flatbreads. It offers a wide variety of craft beer and cocktails.
