When is the First Day of School in Somerville?

Believe it or not, the first day of school is just a few short weeks away!

So when is the first day of school for Somerville Public School students?

The first day of school is set for Wednesday, Sept. 2.

School be closed on Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day.

Here are some other important 2015-2016 dates for Somerville Public School students:

• Sept. 8: First day of Kindergarten
• Oct. 9: No school - staff development
• Oct. 12: No school Columbus Day
• Nov. 3: No school - Election Day
• Nov. 11: No school - Veterans Day holiday
• Dec. 24: Holiday break begins
• Jan. 4: Students return from holiday break
• Feb. 15: Break from classes through the 19th begins
• Apr. 18: Break from classes through the 22nd begins
• Jun. 16: Last day of school
