Woman Robbed Assembly Row Store With Bottle Opener: PD
A woman faces armed robbery and resisting arrest charges in a theft at Saks Off 5th last week.
SOMERVILLE, MA — A Boston woman stole from an Assembly Row store using a bottle opener that bystanders mistook for a knife, police said. Marisol Angeles, 47, stole a pair of $100 sunglasses from Saks Off 5th Feb. 12, according to police. When a Saks prevention officer asked her to return to the store, Angeles pulled out a metal bottle opener, prompting a nearby witness to yell, "She's got a knife," the police report stated.
Angeles dropped the opener and fled down Grand Union Boulevard, police said. She was arrested and admitted to stealing the sunglasses before throwing them down a storm drain, according to police.
When officers tried taking Angeles into custody, she screamed at and backed away from them, police said. She dropped to the ground and kicked "violently," hitting one of the officers with hard-soled Nike boots, according to the police report. Angeles then rolled onto her stomach, tucking both arms under her body and refusing to place her hands behind her back, police said.
